Hi my name Is Benjamin
Nieves for those who I have not met yet. I am a Professional artist
currently living in Providence, Rhode Island.
I was born in Bronx, New York although did not live there
very long, and ended up moving to Rhode Island at the age of three. I
graduated from Mount Pleasant high School in 2001, which I then went to
URI in Kingston, Rhode Island to study pharmacy. I am currently taking a
leave of absence from school due to the stress of life and financial
issues.
I am currently
26 and pursuing my love of art. I am
currently employed by EB Games in Coventry to pay for all of life’s rather unpleasant things like
bills.
I have been working on art as far back as I can remember. I
used to work mainly in pen and ink, or pencil but have moved on to other
media as well. I have worked with but not limited to colored pencils,
pen & ink, charcoal, pastels, water color, clay, oil paints, oil
pastels, wood (ex. Props for costumes), latex ( for latex mask costume
related), computer programs, air brush, acrylics, and acrylic mediums. I
love to experiment with different media and try to make my art different
that what is out there already. I have been working a lot with acrylics
and different acrylics mediums recently and have had a great time
creating new and different techniques with them.
My one goal that I have set for myself and for my art is to
become well known throughout Rhode Island.
